Anecdote / Notes

  • Robert was a carpenter and wheelwright, and also an itinerant preacher. He had suffered from asthma for some years and when his horse slipped while crossing a stream in 1866, throwing Robert into the water, he caught a chill and died at the age of 44 shortly before the birth of his son.8
